My Contributions

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.

Development of information structure & workflow based on requirements & user research ⏤ Specifying the user requirements based on insights & usability standards ⏤ Creation of UX solutions as wireframes or prototypes in Figma ⏤ Evaluation of solutions with users ⏤ Feature creation based on KPIs and technical complexity ⏤ Implementing WCAG accessibility standards.

Final design

Final UI of the Change Report.
Problem
Create a new concept for a flight search and a flight and tariff selection flow using a design system and considering WCAG rules and standards.

Concept
The major diffrence of the new concept lies in using progressive disclosure to show available flights, different compartments and tariffs to choose from.
All components were created carefully by aligning requirements with other parts of the websites to ensure that components and information transmission is as consistent as possible. Interactons, UX Writing and error handling are all made accessible an ensure the visibility of the system status at all times.

Design Process
We started off the process with a benchmarking of several airline websites, travel search engines and agencies. The next step was to understand the airlines industry along with business and technical requirements of Condor. After having conducting some user research I started of with a Vision Flow based on Scribbles. With the help of mental models, UML-Diagrams and Design System which was developed in parallel we started to create UI Design, Prototypes and finally Software implementations. From this point we moved forward with more user testing, iterations and the gathering of MVP features.

Usage of UML Activity diagrams to understand and optimise the workflow

A user searching for a flights can enter the website with different intents and parameters.

Mental Models

Mental models help to abstract the user needs from the business logic.

A view from the concept phase. The different parts of the task are structured with different layouts using placeholders. So we can focus on interaction and workflows. An iteration of the change report showing a stacked view of lines as a selection feature and quick action buttons.

Starting the Vision very low fidelity

Using scribbles in the beginning helps to shape an idea without limitations of pixels or technical limitations.
